Frequently Asked Questions

What type of dentistry do you practice?

Dr. Wright practices comprehensive family /general dentistry and cosmetic dentistry. Using the latest proven techniques, I provide my patients with high quality, functional, esthetic dental work.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. If your plan is an Indemnity or PPO type plan, then I can accept the benefits your insurance company provides. Depending on your particular plan you may have full coverage for some procedures and partial coverage for others. In general you can expect regular cleanings, exams and x-rays to be covered fully, and other procedures to be partially covered. My office is set up for electronic claims, so in most cases you don't even need to bring any forms. My staff would be happy to give you an estimate of your benefits and co-payments - just ask.

What does my insurance cover?

Because medical and dental benefits differ significantly from policy to policy, a review of your specific plan is necessary. If you would like our office to check your plan for you, please call us at 281-554-9090 or email us at and we can do the research.

Usually we need your Name, ID number, Date of Birth, and the telephone number listed on your card.

We will let you know what your estimated insurance benefits are. For deductible, co-pay and non-covered procedures we accept debit card, credit card, cash and checks.

Who does the cleanings?

(Insert Name Here), our registerd dental hygienist performs most cleanings and periodontal therapy. (Insert Name Here) is also a trained dentist, with many years of experience in the dental profession.

Do you over-book or double-book?

No. We reserve time for one patient at a time. You will have time to talk about your concerns and needs. Since the time is reserved for one patient at a time, if you should need to cancel an appointment, please call as soon as possible so that we may schedule the time for someone else.

Do you use tooth-colored fillings?

Yes all fillings are tooth-colored. We do not use metal or mercury fillings (often called silver fillings, even though they contain mostly mercury).

We use white fillings, made of a resin composite. They look natural and are difficult to detect.

Do you use Digital Radiography?

Yes. Digital x-rays are captured by a sensor not film. The images are sharper and can be manipulated for better diagnosis. More importantly, since they require about a sixth of the radiation, patient exposure is greatly reduced.

I have more questions!

What is the process for Porcelain Veneers?

If you are interested in veneers, and would like to find out if veneers are right for you, make an appointment for a short cosmetic consult. There is a nominal fee for this service. At this initial appointment you'll have the opportunity to discuss what you want to achieve. You are invited to bring pictures/clippings of teeth that you like, or even photographs of how your teeth used to look if that is your goal. Dr. Bruce Wright will inform you if you are a candidate for veneers or if other procedures might be better for you.

If you are a good candidate and decide you want to go forward, Dr. Bruce Wright or his staff will take some dental records so that your case can be designed. If a dental cleaning and radiographs are indicated you will be scheduled for that as well. Once your case is designed on models of your teeth, you will return to the office to take a look. Often you will have the opportunity to see how the veneers will look on your teeth at this appointment.

If you are happy with the design, the next appointment is booked to prepare the teeth for veneers. Dr. Bruce Wright will also take an impression so that your porcelain veneers can be fabricated at the lab. You will leave the office with provisional (temporary) veneers, that will be a close approximation in appearance to the final outcome. Unlike the porcelain veneers these are not bonded to the teeth and are delicate, so you wouldn't want to have any important public appearances or travel booked during this two week period.

In approximately 2 weeks, your porcelain veneers will be ready for bonding. Dr. Bruce Wright will remove the temporary veneers, clean the teeth and bond the porcelain veneers permanently to the teeth. You will need to return within a few days for a quick appointment where slight adjustments can be made to ensure longevity and comfort.
